Penile Prosthesis a Malleable Implant
Penile prosthesis surgery for a malleable implant has been used at the Urology Specialists for the last decade. Dr. Gheiler has helped men with erectile dysfunction by implanting a bendable penile prosthesis so that men that also have problems with manual dexterity or just find it to bothersome to use an inflatable pump have a simple and inexpensive solution.
Penile prosthesis whether a malleable penile implant or an inflatable penis implant allows men to have orgasms as long as they were having orgasms prior to the implant procedure. To use the malleable penis implant you simply bend the penis upward when in use and bend it back down when not in use. The penile implant procedure is quick (20 minutes) and involves sliding two semi hard rods into the shaft of the penis through a slit at the base of the penis.
The benefits of using the malleable penile prosthesis include how quickly by simply bending the penis upward you are ready for sex, it is inexpensive with many insurance companies covering costs, it is a minimally invasive procedure, and it is a time tested successful erectile dysfunction solution. One disadvantage may be that sometimes the malleable penile prosthesis can be seen when wearing pants according to your position and how it is bent down.
Dr. Gheiler will show you the difference in the different penile prosthesis implants as well as how to use them during sex and during daily everyday activity. Initially four to six weeks of recovery is desired prior to using the implant. Since using the malleable penile prosthesis is so simple there is not much training needed compared to the inflatable penile implant.
